Wisconsin Bride Magazine, Best of 2008!

I have been published a few times in Wisconsin Bride Magazine (www.wibride.com) and have found the magazine to be truly awesome, ranking up there with the most common national bridal wedding zines you find in book stores! Every year in the Fall/Winter edition of WI Bride, they celebrate the best Wisconsin vendors in the industry.

I have never been involved in a “Best Of” contest, but I decided to see what would happen this year. For all my blog lurkers and readers, please take the time to visit the below link of VOTE FOR ME in the “Photographer” vendor category. Heck, even nominate me to the “Best all around wedding vendor”! The rules are simple:

  • ONE vote for a SINGLE email address.
  • A MINIMUM of HALF the vendor fields need to be completed.

(Never fear, you will not get spam from Wisconsin Bride by entering an email address!)

During the past few years, I have made many awesome friends in the wedding biz. Below the link to enter your vote (FOR ME OF COURSE!), is a small list of other Wisconsin wedding vendors I feel need recogniton. Of course, if you have your own favorites, please use them. Otherwise , use the vendors from my list below!

Go grab a copy of the Spring/Summer issue of Wisconsin Bride Magazine! My photos have been included in the Real Wedding feature, showcasing Luke and Tina Griffin’s wedding! Truly, it’s a MUST READ! Their story is simply incredible.

Luke and Tina are now very good friends of mine, having built a solid relationship from our very first meeting! For those who haven’t seen the photos of their amazing wedding, you can view the slideshow HERE. In case you can’t find a copy of Wisconsin Bride at your local magazine store, I have uploaded the article in a pdf format HERE.

Many thanks go out to Marie Walter and WI Bride magazine, for all their support of Luke and Tina!

Gotta, gotta, gotta Garmin! Ya’ll know the tv jingle, right?

Heck yeah! Merry Christmas to the business! Saved my a$$ finding Dallas’ house this past weekend, before shooting her wedding! Which, by the way, was cool as all heck. But we’ll get into to that shortly. Thanks to my Rob, after mastering the Garmin GPS in a matter of a few short minutes, we landed at Dallas’ house with four minutes on the easy side. Dang, that thing is truly incredible! How in the world did we ever survive with those maps you could never figure out how to fold up??? I’m now 100% sold on it! For those of you that have one (and more specifically a Garmin brand GPS), hit up Karen’s Austrailian voice in the menu. Gotta love if from down under.

Anyways….

Dallas and Chris. Wedding coverage was short, but as soon as we arrived we were thrown directly into all things photo-taking! Shotgun start. I thrive on the pressure. Dallas’ house has got to have the most amazing colors I’ve ever seen adhered to the walls! Guys, leave it to the women to design your home, alright? Although I give props to Chris for hanging a deer head on the wall. Makes for a great shoe hanger, as Rob discovered. And you know how I love those shoe shots…

Their wedding was filed with moment, color, and passion. I shot for 6 hours, covering the prepartion, ceremony, formals and the cocktail hour at the Stoney Creek Inn. I shot one of my favorite shots at this wedding, showcasing Dallas’ emotion as she came down the aisle. Although the priest told me not to be were I was shooting from, I was glad I strayed from his request in a commando-ish way.

Here are some more quick grabs:

We had Dallas and Chris hike through deep snow to shoot at this awesome covered bridge behind the Stoney Creek Inn. Sorry guys…

Congratulation Dallas and Chris!

Well, I finally edited Beth & Jeremy’s wedding from November 23rd. Beth was very gracious in her understanding that I needed the month of December to re-adjust to a normal life. But the wait was the worth it.

I’ve known Beth and Jeremy for two years or so, more-or-less. I gotta say that their wedding day started out surrounded with nervousness, yet with incredible excitement. But as the day went on, everything truly fell into place. And that reception… WERD. The shooting opportunities there were awesome!

Huge thanks go out to my good friend Ken Cravillion for lending me some rather EXPENSIVE Canon lenses to use for the day, as I was having some nerdy techinical problems with one of my own. Thank you Ken! (And yes, we’ll go to Vinnies soon, I swear!)

Shooting these were cooooooooooooold! Beth was a trooper to say the least…

Congrats Beth & Jeremy!

I’ve decided to blog some photos from the past year, that never surfaced on my blog as a result of my crazy schedule. I intend to continue showing some of my recent work from the past year, while I have a light winter schedule.

The following set is from Marissa’s shoot downtown Appleton with her sister in early December. It was cooooooold, but managed to knock out some cool shots!
