I knew this engagement shoot would go so well, since the first time I met Rachel and Eric at our initial consultation. They’ve been through shoots before. They know the drill. And it worked out perfectly. I have to give mad props to Amy G at Ardent Photography for hooking me up with these guys! In fact, rumor has it she will be shooting photos alongside me on April 26th! I can’t wait for the wedding!

We went into the shoot fairly blind, but we chose perfect locations. Right from the go we nailed the shots and had a blast in the process. Oddly enough, I introduced them to Mike and Claire in front of Beaner’s Coffee downtown Appleton, and even snagged myself a brand spanking new Sunday Flood poster!

Oh yeah, I vowed never to shoot at Adam’s secret location again (see www.simpledirty.com ~ “Kick The Can” series). I’ve worn a path leading up to this old school house. Nonetheless, we decided it fit Rachel well given the fact she is a teacher!

My assistant Rob, took Adam and I out to shoot some photos for the Grand Chute Fire Department. The photos are being used for the GCFD baseball cards, featuring some of the firetrucks. Adam and I got to ride on their brand freakin’ new Pierce ladder truck, to the tune of more money than I’ll ever see in the next 20 years. Rob made Adam and I his assistants for the night, which was weird for me. I even had to help wash the truck when we were done. No worries, I’ll be sure to hang that over Rob’s head for months to come…

Traditionally, boudoir shoots are typically done prior to the wedding and are a proverbial gift to the bride’s husband. It’s of my opinion if they are done right, these shoots can be very classy and retain a great deal of reverence. I have just started to offer these as add-ons to my wedding packages. Well, this was a first for me. I haven’t done a boudoir shoot prior to this, so it was a learning experience. But in the end, the photos turned out awesome!
