As you may know, I never look fondly on shooting weddings for friends, family, or mere aquaintances thereof, but I can never seem to pass up an event with character with an element of uniqueness. I’ve known Eric for years now, through one of my favorite local bands, Sunday Flood. Eric and Dana are truly my kinda peeps! Ever since their engagement shoot, turned conceptual shoot, I have been waiting patiently to shoot their wedding. Shot at the now defunct/abandoned Paul Bunyan Ski Hill in Lakewood, WI, the day was amazing. I LOVE Eric, Dana, their families and the Sunday Flood family to no end.

The always awesome Rob Buettner and Ken Kemper, along with myself, visited Door County this morning to shoot some fall colors. The only difference is we did it a a Cesna 172, courtesy of MaxAir. We left in the morning and spent about 2 hours in-flight, for no better reason than to shoot photos.

Ken took good care of us aside from getting a tad off-course on our way home. The air was calm, the company was fun and the colors were AMAZING. It was incredibly nice to get away from the office and the pile of editing on my hands, to enjoy something fresh.

I slept three hours last night, so it’s off to bed for me!

I shot a RAD engagement session today, which included a kick-ass ride in a corn combine, meeting THE LARGEST dog I have EVER seen and a trip through some plowed fields in a Chevy pick-up truck. WOOT! I can only imagine what Kim and Rick’s wedding will be like! I WANT HAY BALES!

Rob, Trevor and I spent Monday and Tuesday in Chicago for a get-together with some of my very dear photographer friends from around the nation. Those present: Brooks & Leigh Whittington, Dennis Lee, Amy Johnston, Melissa & Mike Laggis, Christy Marks, Heather King, Charo Donohue, Kim Anderson, Neil and Eron from Front Room, Rob and Trevor.

It was very short, but we all had a GREAT time catching up! Many thanks go out to my soon-to-be sister in-law Lindsey for putting us up in MDA City Apartments for the night. This is the second time I stayed here, and as always, it was amazing. Check it out:
