AMELIA & DAVE :: ENGAGEMENT SHOOT
I’ve been looking forward to Amelia & Dave’s engagement shoot for a while now. They wanted to do a rather non-traditional shoot and I jumped on the opportunity. Although we couldn’t secure the location I had initially desired to use, we hit a more polished look that spoke to their unique style. I sometimes feel the traditional engagement shoot can end up being a tad cliche and over-done. These aren’t as conceptual as some of my other shoots, but I was after a more stylized look to the final photos. Have a peek..

David, Great set! I love when people go for the non-traditional shoots because you can break the mold alittle bit and create some that stands out from the crowd.
Do you mind sharing the light set up?
Thanks, Kyle

@Kyle – Lighting was an Alienbee AB1600 in a 50″ Wescott softbox. Full-power. We were shooting at noon, full sun… so we needed to overpower all available light. The 3rd, 4th and 5th shots we used a 28″ Wescott softbox.
Thanks all for the nice words!

Thanks for the info Dave! I picked some AB800′s a few months back and I have trouble shooting in sun light at noon. I guess I’ll be sending my AB’s in for an upgrade! Thanks again!

Everytime I see you and that Zack fella use a 50 inch westcott just makes me want to rush out and buy it. Did you have to use ND filters for these?
Wonderful set, inspired.
