FOX CITIES MAGAZINE :: In The Swim Of Things

Last month I was asked to shoot the 2011 Fox Cities Magazine Swimsuit Issue and gladly accepted the offer. This is the 10th FCM swimsuit issue and the first time I was brought on board to handle the project. The issue has always featured local Fox Valley business and community leaders donning their best beach attire. In the past, the issues have typically had the models showcased at one location. Since we were brought on new this year, we took to shooting the series on-location at these folks places of business.

Going into the shoot, I knew I wanted to bring a fresh approach to the annual issue. I wanted the photos to have a polished, more dynamic feel. I’m grateful for this opportunity and after three days of shooting, was very pleased with the results. You can only pick up a copy at local Fox Valley newsstands or you can view the PDF online HERE. I will be posting a behind-the-scenes video (shot by Alison Fiebig of FCM) from the shoot early next week.

Many thanks go out to the staff at Fox Cities Magazine, Dan Woolf, my studio manager Trevor Nackers and the daring models and extras. All of whom made this a killer project!

Jason Druxman, Co-Owner of Avenue Jewelers in Appleton

Kim Sippola, Marketing Manager of the Outagamie County Airport

Rick and Helen Nowak, President and HR Manager of Kurz Electric in Neenah

Jerry Oberstadt, owner of Oberstadt Landscaping in Fremont

Alan Peche, Director of the Barlow Planetarium at the University of Wisconsin – Fox Valley Campus

    Hi David,

These are just brilliant. I love the humour in them and technically they’re just superb. It looks like you processed them a fair bit but the effects are stunning. You inspire me!
