DROWNING POOL’S “RESILIENCE” COVER ART :: The Technical Process

This past Wednesday I was the guest on Scott Kelby’s Photoshop Insider blog, discussing the album art I shot for Drowning Pool’s new album, “Resilience” on Eleven Seven Music. While the blog post and correlating video did touch on some of the technical details of the artwork, I primarily spoke to the thought process involved with creating the work. With that being said, I had a few requests to talk a little more in-depth about the post-production on these images. I put together two videos (below) as a sorta ‘walk-through’ from two of the shots!

    awesome video and even more awesome results! Thanks so much for posting this run through, I’ve done a few band cover shoots but have kept it fairly simple so far, this has really inspired me to approach things with a lot more depth (see what I did there) and to try and challenge myself much more.

    Thanks Dave, I now have a new appreciation for my work. I try to learn as much as I can, and now I set my goal to learn HDR and effects.. do you have workshops on this?
